The product owner owns the product and is responsible for the product lifecycle of the product. The product can a mix of bought parts and tailor made parts, best of breed as we call it. The product owner needs to create a product vision that contributes the business mission and vision. The product owner needs to make sure this vision is supported by the (key) stakeholders in the business.
The product owner owns the blacklog an all the epics and story’s on the backlog. Interviews and collaboration with (key) stakeholder, development team members, users and business analyst will give the product owner requirements so the product owner can fill-up the story’s content. During the refinement and planning sessions the product owner discusses the story details with the development team.
The product owner also presents new realized features to the stakeholders in a sceduled demo. Besides presenting new features the product owner needs to make sure that the product is used within the business by implementing the product.
The financials, the product owner helps in creating a business case for the product / new product features so the business can monitor the expenses related to a product
